“SUNSHINE IS A WELCOME THING. IT BRINGS A LOT OF HAPPINESS”
This was the theme for our Junior School Prize Day held on the 5th November, 2009. The decorations enhanced the stage settings. The prize winners were commended by displaying their photographs very attractively.
The function commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Ms. Julie Wasilewski, Chair, Bachelor of Education, Fujairah Women’s College. The students of Junior 3 and 4 sang the National Anthem. A surah from the Holy Quran was recited by Mohammed Ali of Junior 4C. Tanisha Pal of Junior 4G warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and all the parents. This was then followed by the Welcome Song and Dance in which the little dancers greeted the audience with gentle movements using fans.
The Principal, Mr. James M. Paul addressed the gathering after which the Prize distribution was held. The students rewarded for their dedication and hard work during the Academic year 2008-2009. They walked up smartly to receive their prizes and certificates from the Chief Guest.
Next on the agenda was the cultural programme put up by the kiddies. It was truly a ‘kaleidoscope’ extravaganza with all the singing and brightly coloured dances. The children swayed and sashayed, clapped and tapped to the rhythmic beat of the music. The musical, ‘COYOTE STEALS THE SUMMER’ was the highlight of the programme. The costume were vibrant and added to the overall performance of the play.
The Chief Guest commended the participants on their performance. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Abdul Aziz of Grade 4A and Fateen Ahmed of Grade 4B. They thanked all those who worked tirelessly to make the evening a grand success. The singing of the School song brought the show to a close. So ended another successful Junior School Prize Day.
